New Artist Pick: Goose

In honor of Grammy's week I decided to do a post on a true artist with phenomenal talent! I found out about this artist named Goose on twitter. His music and new mixtape "Homeless in Hollywood" is buzzing all over the internet! So, I decided to give it a quick listen and became an instant fan. Believe me there is no way you will miss his witty catch phrases over alluring and hypnotic beats. This is a real artisit and pretty soon everyone will be knockin at this man's door for a record deal!

Check out our interview!

Ja'toi: What got you started in hip hop?goose_homeless_in_hollywood_1

Goose: What got me started in hip hop would have to be poetry, as a kid I use to write and I guess as my love for music grew so did my writing ability and naturally the two combined.

Ja'toi: When did you first start writing, and are there any special techniques you use when in the studio?

Goose: I started writing when I was about 9 or 10, but when I use to write I needed to be in a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere,so I usually have my material ready before I go to the studio because its hard for me to write while so much is going on.

Ja'toi: Who's your favorite artist out right now (besides yourself) , and have they inspired you?

Goose: My favorite artist out right now would have to be kid cudi, I think when you hear his music you get the true essence of him as a person and that's what people are drawn to the realness of it.

Ja'toi:  Looking at your past are there any moments that influence your music today?

Goose: I think every day of my life is a influence on my music, of course
my past has a huge part to play in it but my music comes from everyday
feelings and emotions.

Ja'toi:
Besides rap, what are some other genres that you enjoy?

Goose: That's funny that you asked because hip hop is the genre that I
don't listen to lol! I listen to a lot of rock, paramore, mgmt, kings
of leon etc.

Ja'toi: If you could pick any 3 artists nationwide to collab with, who would they be?
Goose: If I could pick any 3? Let's see of course drake I mean the guy is
all over the place lol! Jay-z for obvious reasons and paramore I think
I would kill a track with them..as a matter of fact let's all get on
the same track together.. That would be the collab of the millenium!!

Ja'toi: What inspired the homeless in hollywood mix tape?

Goose: Striving artist such as myself and every other hungry artist across
the world is homeless in hollywood inspired! You know were just tryna
make a home out of this cliche society lol!

Ja'toi: What are your thoughts about rap and the recession, is it going to survive?

Goose: Man survived the last recession so were definetly capable of
surviving this one, the question is are we willing to learn from are
mistakes! And hip hop has always been a evolution, a growth, so as
long as were evolving we have nothing to worry about.

Ja'toi: Now, for the ladies! Are you single? Dating? or just Focused?

Goose: You know the allure of a artist and fan relationship has a lot to
do with the mysterious aspect of it all, so were gonna keep that a
mystery, it gives them more to figure out about me lol!

Ja'toi:  Sorry ladies I tried lol...

Ja'toi: Where can we check out your music or mix tapes? Are you on tour or doing shows right now?

Goose You can check me out at www.thisisgoose.com and download the music
there and ill definetely be in a city near you!

Thank you so much for the opportunity and check me out at

J Lounge in Downtown LA

w/the B-day girl!w/the B-day girl!

Friday night Erica and I headed out to celebrate a good friend's 21st birthday at the sexy and sleek J Lounge

The Lounge is great for those who want to have fun, but want to avoid a hectic sweaty club scene. It has two different levels of partying. The top level is a fun club seen with an amazing dance floor. It's decorated with great couches, amazing light designs and big screen TV's. The second level, which is my favorite, is a patio area with the an outstanding view overlooking L.A. They have open cabaannas for everyone and a giant projector! The patio is connected to a great restaurant, with fantastic food. Everyone this place gets an absolute A+! Check it out with some friends for a good time!
