Fashion Show Mishaps

We are big supporters of the chic boutique Em & CO, as you may know from previous posts. We love their stylish, fun and classy events. However, this past week we attended their poolside fashion show at the Palazzo and were VERY disappointed. First, the hor douerves never showed up, the band was a no show and the fashion show started an hour and a half late! The event was completely unorganized!

Although once the show started,  the event started to pick up with featured designs from the Em & CO boutique and Pamela G swim wear. Monique StaTeena from Americas Next Top Model (host of the event) closed the show beautifully and salvaged what was left of a poor planned night! Monique could not have been any sweeter. We were in awe with her kindness and professionalism. Although this event was not their best, I am pulling for Em & Co! *fingers crossed for a BIG recovery*

Here are pics from our night! Check out a few of my favorite pics from Pamela G swim wear!

Noodle Heaven

Hey foodies! These Garlic Noodles from Crustacean Restaurant in Beverly Hills are a must try. I've had them twice in the last month and each time my tummy is in utter happiness. While they might look a little bleak, the taste is savoring. Mmm...

What I love even more about this recipe is that it's founded by a group of Vietnamese woman and they are the only ones in the world who know the recipe. Each An Family restaurant has a 'Secret Kitchen' in which the founders do the cooking. No chefs, staff, or managers are even allowed in this separate and secret room. This family recipe is well protected! I don't blame them!

Insta-Vacation Summer Glow!

LogoToday I had my first custom spray tan and wow, it does work wonders! I went to Spray di Sole in Studio City. In less than 20 minutes I had an instant summer glow. It looked like I just got back from island hopping! By wearing the provided panty and my strapless bra, I was able to see the dramatic results. I loved how I didn't need any make-up, the tan was great. Best of all, it wasn't orange. However, the tan did develop more as the hours passed and I got pretty dark. So, I recommend not getting a spray tan the day of an event or when photos are being taken. It's recommended to get spray at 2-3 days before the event for photos sake. I wish I took before & after photos to show you, but I would rather stick with the website's model ;) See below. Reference Me or Le Petite x2 if you go in! What are your favorite tanning places?

Tips before: No Make-up, No deodorant, No lotion, Shave or wax before, Ex-foliate before, and try not to sweat or get wait for 8-12 hours.

Founder, Svetlana Feller, was so kind and also gave me great and affordable referrals for Eyelash extensions and Eyebrow Specialist. Let me know if you want the info!

Take a Seat

It never hurts to re-familiarize yourself with the proper table setting guidelines every now and then. With several set-up options, it can all get confusing! Being in the Wedding biz, I finding myself at many tastings and set-up is crucial. Also, it's imperative for a planner to know the proper layout. When you throw your next dinner party, setting the table will be easy as pie! Guests in the hospitality business will appreciate your knowledge.

No matter what here are some tips from the etiquette guru, Emily Post.

- Utensils are placed in the order of use, that is, from the outside in.  Forks go to the left of the plate, and knives and spoons go to the right.

- Holding your hands in front of you, touch the tips of your thumbs to the tips of your forefinergers to make a lower case ‘b’ with your left hand and a lower case ‘d’ with your right hand. This reminds you that ‘bread and butter’ go to the left of the place setting and ‘drinks’ go on the right.

- Knife blades always face the plate

- Bon Appetit!
