Summer Book List

Summer is just around the corner and there's no better time to catch up your reading! Well, if you have summers off ;) For us others, finding time to read can usually end up on the bottom of your 'to-do' list. But here are some books that will make you want to schedule some reading time (I hope so).

For some reflection and light hearted reading, Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat, Pray, Love is on my to-read list. I would love to read the book before its movie release date in August with the fabulous Julia Roberts. It's also directed by none other than the creator of the hit musical show Glee! Based on a real story, the novel follows a woman's journey to discover herself in three different countries. Discover your eat, pray and love.

Eat, Pray, Love

Kelly Cutrone is the woman you love to hate. With her blunt criticism and tough love, she can make anyone cry.  Whether you agree or disagree with her harsh attitude, you can learn a lot from her savvy ways. With that, she wrote If you have to cry, go outside.

For your cheesy, romance entertainment, here is book number three of the Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts. I'm currently on the second book. I love all things weddings and this series provides it all. The series is about four best friends who share a mansion and own a Wedding Planning company. Perfect, yes? They each provide a service (a baker, florist, photographer, and the planner) and each book takes us in their world. Filled with fun, attitude, creativity, and of the course steamy relationships... Have a your favorite ice cream ready!

Trendy looks can be fun but often expensive. So, when attending a fashion soiree at Destinaton1610 during fashion week with my two favorite Texas designers and the hottest hip hop blogger I knew I had to get creative!

Spring into Coach

I've always loved Coach and their new arrivals are perfect for this beautiful, sunny LA weather. My three favorites are the Madison Leather Hippie ($298), Signature Ottoman Broke ($298), and New Emily's Satchel ($498). The Madison is my top choice and I love the versatility of the bag and classic chic look. Perfect for that casual summer dress or dressing up for work. I just might have to save up for this one! Worth a few paychecks ;)

What I love about the Emily purse, it was designed by none other than a fashion blogger. What an inspiration and dream! Her name is Emily Schuman and her blog, Cupcakes and Cashmere, delights readers with her incredible fashion sense. We hope Le Petite x2 can one day have the same opportunities!

Two beauty musts!

When I come across great beauty products, I feel it's my duty to share! I love the feeling of finding a great product that is reliable (able to purchase without question) and not breaking the bank. In others words, I enjoy having that go-to product! Don't you?! Here are two beauty products that are on my hot list.

24/7 Duo

24/7 Duo

I'm a big eyeliner fan and feel it's an instant face changer (especially after waking up on the wrong side of the bed). When I borrowed my mom's Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil, little did I know how great it would be. Of course, she buys all the good make-up off the bat. The eye pencil literally lasted all day and did not smudge. Available in other fun colors too!

No skin cancer for me!

No skin cancer for me!

Next on the list, in time for summer are the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes. Tanning beds are out and so is sun damage and skin cancer. Let's try our best girls and guys to keep our skin as safe as possible. However, I do love to be tan and will resort these magical towelettes. They will give you an instant and streak-free tan. And best of all, will make you look instantly thinner and toned.  Tip: Make sure to be completely dry before re-applying clothes.

The Whisper Restaurant and Lounge a Golden Treasure!!!

So I recently celebrated my 22 birthday with a special friend and our first stop was the Whisper Restaurant and Lounge! Loved the service, the food and the decor. The restaurant decor has a romantic feel with dim lights and and intimate settings.

Located at the Grove LA in West Hollywood I have a feeling this golden treasure is going to become a celeb hot spot fast!

Celebs such as KimKardashian, Kris Jener and the whole cast of DWTS (which were in attendance on my bday!)  are constantly spotted dining at this 1940's inspired restaurant.

The best part about this new celeb hot spot is that the prices are affordable! If you are looking for a great lounge to relax and grab a drink at or take your honey on a romantic night out check out the Whisper Restaurant and Lounge. I give them two thumbs up and all around golden stars!

Miley Can’t be Tamed?!!!

Ok I will be the first to admit I am NNNOOOOO Miley Cyrus fan but let me say props need to be given to this Disney drama queen. Her new video Can't Be Tamed is probably her best video to date!

The production dance scenes and costimes are to die for!!! Very Britney Spears before she went crazy, lets just hope "can't be tamed" is not a premonition into this young party girls future!

Nevertheless I am stunned with the costumes especially the $25,000 corset she wears in the main scene designed by the blonds. She is also working with, get this 10 year old designer Cecilia Cassini!

Congrats on the amazing video Ms. Cyrus! Definitely love and appreciate a great video concept and stunning fashion!

Cluster Love

I'm a huge fan of home interior design and adore creative projects. I especially enjoy the home design blogs when they show before and after photos of a room. If you know me, you've seen my room designed so many times throughout the years. From tie dye walls, Starry Night themed, to now Victorian birdcage. I blame this on my mom, she is constantly re-decorating the house. I remember visiting from college and always finding the living room re-positioned or some room painted a different color. At least she has a good eye for design. So no one really minds, unless we are involved in the constant moving of furniture or items. Ha.

A new obsession has been this cluster of items for wall art. I can't decide whether I like china plates, mirrored frames, or photography art being clustered. How creative are the three projects below?! I can't wait to start my own cluster project. Is there a proper name for these type of projects? Haha, someone inform me. Anyways, who knew various sized and shaped items can look so well together? LOVE. Do you see the Keep Calm and Carry On poster in the last photo? ;)

Tips: Do a mock-setup before pinning the items up. Don't be afraid of gathering from different collections and finding the best items from thrift stores or swap meets. Don't like the color of a frame you like? Paint it!
