Book Read: Crush It!
Here's a great read for you! Thinking about your future and where your career lies? With so many opportunities (ie. social media outlets) right now, there's no reason to plan on having your dream job. Gary Vaynerchuk inspires you to "cash in on your passion". No matter where your passion lies whether in wine, design or fishing worms; you can find a way to earn a living about sharing your knowledge and passion. He leaves you feeling empowered and ready to conquer the world. Seriously. I love it when entrepreneurs share their wisdom and actually care about their readers. Haven't we all been in situations where we feel taken advantage of and want to set out on your own? Well, this is the book to read. Do it. Watch the video below if you haven't been convinced.
Excerpts from Crush It! by Gary Vaynerchuk.
** The best marketing strategy ever: CARE.
** Everyone--EVERYONE--needs to start thinking of themselves as a brand. It is no longer an option; it is a necessity.
** Don't get obsessed with how many friends or fans are following you- the stats are only marginally important. What's important is the intensity of your community's engagement and interaction with you.
** Do you work for a company that allows you to have a public persona, either about your field or your true passion? ...In other words, are you allowed to have a blog, a Twitter account, or otherwise brand yourself in the public eye with an identity that is separate from the corporation? Some industries, like finances and law, do you love your field enough to make that sacrifice?

Keep Calm And Carry On.
I absolutely love this collection and saying. The Keep Calm And Carry On collection was made famous by the 1939 WWII poster in order to keep peace in Britain. This classic saying has been made popular nowadays for its simple, yet profound meaning. Something we all need to remind ourselves once in awhile. Don't forget to check out the famous poster replicas on Amazon or Etsy. I found these items at one of my all time favorite stores, Paper Source. The perfect place for all your stationary and arts and crafts needs. I can honestly spend hours on their site!

Help Save Japan's Dolphins
www.takepart.com
"The Cove exposes the slaughter of more than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises off the coast of Japan every year, and how their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan and other parts of Asia, often labeled as whale meat. The majority of the world is not aware this is happening. The focus of the Social Action Campaign for The Cove is to create worldwide awareness of this annual practice as well as the dangers of eating seafood contaminated with mercury and to pressure those in power to put an end to the slaughter." -takepart.com
Louie Trip
No, not to Louis Vuitton. We wish!! We hit up Bottega Louie for some food and drinks after work. We are busy working gals, so this was a nice outing for us to catch up and talk about new Le Petite projects. Boy, do we have some major plans in the works. So thank you readers for keeping up with us, we appreciate your time :-)
Here's a post from both of us:
Bottega Louie is this super chic restaurant and bakery in Downtown LA. It had a good vibe, whether you need a quick bite for lunch or having a date night. Ja'toi and I weren't amazed by the food, maybe because the prices were a little on the expensive side, but we definitely came out happy and full. Also, the service was superb. My water glass was never empty and the waiters made us feel special. Ja'toi had a drink made especially for her from the bar mixologist. Talk about delish! As for food, we ordered the Tomato Bruschetta and Margherita Pizza. See the yummy photos below.
Loved checkin out Bottega Louie with Erica Espana! We had such a productive meeting together and even met Kristen Bell! She is absolutely so sweet and amazing. After convincing the extremely cute manager to get me a specialized drink I definitely enjoyed my trip a little more. My strawberry pineapple Ja'toi cocktail was the highlight of my night. (yes, I named the drink after me!) Although quickly figured out this high end restaurant is about their great customer service but less about their under portioned expensive food!

My new toy!
Introducing my new toy, grown-up toy at that! :) My awesome boyfriend knows how much I love stationary (basically anything arts and crafts) and got me this Letterpress Kit for Christmas. Which due to high demand, I just received it in the mail a few weeks ago! Talk about forever! I was getting a little frustrated, but they threw in an extra plate of designs which was nice (which is in backorder and still waiting for!).
Anywho, I tried it out and absolutely love it. It's great for making Thank You Cards, Business Cards to Wedding Invitations. A lot of work let me tell ya, but so worth it to receive a custom letterpress card. I'm in the process of making a custom plate with my own designs and can't wait to make personalized cards for my friends and fellow colleagues. I will you show once my masterpiece is done! ;)
My first note cards (via twitter @ericaespana):
From the Lifestyle Crafts Blog:
They have a lot of inspiration. How pretty are these simple note cards?

I recently came across Temperley London, a high-end stylish boutique, while working in Melrose Place for an event and loved every piece of clothing I saw. The store is sophistication meets glamour chic. My favorite! One wee problem, items in the store typically range $500-$2,000+! Not in my budget anytime soon...
I decided to put my own spin on a dress I saw and loved. This coral, silk dress at Temperley (Left) is perfect for Spring and so effortless, yet $1,495! I turned to affordable Lulu's, an online shopping site, and found 2 dresses that would do just the job. Try Lulu's Miss Georgia Peach Dress in the middle for $57 or Flashbulb Frenzy Dress in Blood Orange for $30. Both a steal and will get you spring ready at steal worthy prices!
Who Do We Love? JEN AWAD!
I am back with the fashion scoop! I have finally recovered from the insanity of L.A. "Fashion Week" and I am here to let you in on all the fabulous designers I have discovered. And, First up is my favorite Jen Awad!
I was lucky enough to interview the designer after the show and she let me in on her collection, her future and her band!
This former FIDM Alumni floored me! Her collection actually left me with chills as it hit the runway!
The 1940's inspired collection is perfect for fall. The details of cascading pearls, metallic golds, and sultry color choices separates this young designer from her peers. As a stylist and a blogger I guarantee this designer will be a house hold name and definitely a new competitor for designers like Betsy Johnson, Donna Karen and Marc Jacobs!
As the interview continued back stage I fell more and more in love with this rebellious Rock-n-Roll designer! I love the fact that she is not afraid to combine pearls with leather. This fall 2010 collection screams classic sexiness with a rebellious twist!

Overall, Jen Awad was the best designer, and had the best collection of LA fashion week, Hands Down! This little fashionista loves loves loves this collection. Definitely a gold star from me! I am on pins and needles to see what this creative designer has up her sleeve next!
